LEAD created Digital Twins of urban logistics networks in six TEN-T urban nodes (Madrid, The Hague, Lyon, Budapest, Oslo, Porto), to support experimentation and decision making with on-demand logistics operations in a public-private urban setting.
City logistics solutions were represented by a set of value case scenarios that address the requirements of the on-demand economy and the pressures caused by the increase of parcel deliveries while aligning competing interests and creating value for all different stakeholders. Each value case combined a number of measures coined as LEAD Strategies to cover the complete dynamics and complexity of a city’s logistics challenges.
As the project draws near its conclusion, LEAD has released a video detailing some of it’s activities, but mostly presenting the LEAD Platform – a sophisticated tool designed to assist in the optimisation of last-mile logistics operations. It provides an environment for simulating complex logistics scenarios, simplifying the evaluation process of several strategies, interventions, and policy decisions to promote sustainable last-mile deliveries.

The LEAD project will conclude by end of September. The Urban Logistics Innovation Day, taking place in Brussels, on September 26th, will serve as the project’s final conference.
