Join LEAD’s session at IPIC 2021!
The 8th International Physical Internet Conference will take place online on the 15th and 16th of June. This year’s edition will promote discussions towards a smart hyperconnected era of efficient and sustainable logistics, supply chains and transportation. LEAD is organising a parallel session on Digital Twins for shared-connected and low-emission urban logistics operations, on the 16th of June, from 09:00 – 10:30 (CEST).
The session will delve into the experiences of LEAD partners, which are developing solutions to address the challenges affecting on-demand city logistics, through collaborative activities in Living Labs and the creation of Digital Twins of urban logistics networks: CityLogin, SONAE and Zaragoza Logistics Center. In particular, the specific case of the SONAE partner will be presented, as the company is already applying the Physical Internet approach to its operations in both the LEAD and ICONET project.
The session will provide participants with practical examples of how Living Labs and Digital Twins, coupled with the PI approach, can enable and accelerate innovation for on-demand city logistics. What are the current trends and challenges city logistics are facing? What PI-focused solutions is LEAD developing to address these challenges? How can Digital Twins support the transition towards a PI-centered approach? What are the value cases developed in Madrid and Porto, and how do they embed the PI approach?
