Twin City: digital twin in urban mobility planning
The untapped potential of Digital Twin technology to enable cities and regions to plan and deploy sustainable urban mobility is drawing attention from stakeholders in the field. How can this technology help city planners to steer away from fossil-fuel intensive transportation methods and towards climate-neutral mobility?
The Rogaland County Council is organising a workshop during this year’s Nordic Edge Expo, on September 23rd, to discuss and explore the possibilities of using Digital Twin technology in urban mobility planning. The session is of particular interest to any public or private sector stakeholders, and researchers within the field of mobility and citizen representatives, willing to discuss and exchange knowledge on the different uses of digital twin technology in the mobility sector.
This session will bring together a wide and knowledgeable group of stakeholders taking lead on the field of Digital Twins, including:
- Eddy Hartog, Head of Unit Technologies for Smart Communities at Commission ‘s DG Connect,
- On behalf of the LEAD project, Giacomo Lozzi, Senior Project Manager – Coordinator Urban Freight, POLIS
- Lea Hemetsberger, Project Manager, Open & Agile Smart CitiesOASC,
- Smart Cities Marketplace and the
- Moderator: Anthony Van de Ven, Head of Office in the Eindhoven Brainport EU office Brussels City of Eindhoven
The session will include three working groups, led by POLIS, Open Agile and Smart Cities (OASC) and the European Commission’s Smart City Marketplace, to discuss more specific topics related to Digital Twins technology and deployment.
