Cities are on the lookout for innovative clean freight solutions. The rise of an on-demand economy and the “uberisation” of urban logistics together with the mission of becoming climate-neutral paves the way for innovative solutions.
This is how Digital Twins come in: this is a digital replica of a complex real-world urban environment and represents different processes, actors and their interaction(s).
The webinar “Like two peas in a pod: Digital Twins for urban planning” is promoted by LEAD, in association with Polis Network’s Mobilising Mobility webinar series. In addition to setting the context and bringing clarity to this complex concept, this webinar will showcase trailblazing initiatives that are evidence of its potential for more sustainable urban mobility planning.
The session will be an opportunity to learn more about other Digital Twin experiences, such as Rotterdam’s 3D Digital Twin.
Speakers include Andrea Halmos (Policy Officer at the European Commission), Irene Blázquez Jimenez (LEAD Project Coordinator) and Roland van der Heijden, Programme Manager of the Digital City, of Rotterdam. The session will be moderated by Giacomo Lozzi, Senior Project Manager and Coordinator Urban Freight at POLIS.
The webinar will take place on 10 November 2020, 14:00 – 15:00 (CET)
