LEAD is featured in the latest issue of the Thinking Cities Magazine, released in July 2020. The article, prepared by the partners from Polis, not only ventures in the concept of Digital Twins but also on how LEAD will use them to tackle existing challenges of urban logistics operations
As pointed out in the article, “Digital Twins are a 3D digital replica of a complex real-world urban environment that represents different processes, actors and their interaction”.
This is a relatively novel concept in the realm of urban logistics. As such, LEAD “will create Digital Twins of urban logistics networks in six cities (Madrid, The Hague, Budapest, Lyon, Oslo and Porto), to test and represent different innovative solutions for shared-connected and low-emission logistics operations and to address the requirements of the on-demand economy while aligning competing interests and creating value for all different stakeholders”.
Still unsure about what Digital Twins are? Wondering what they can do for Urban Freight? Then look no further: you can check out the complete article here.
